about

Bill "Cuckoo Braaaaiiiaaans" Barnes yodels another death country tale, this time from the Midwest, paying homage to ghoul, cannibal and murderer, Ed Gein.

lyrics

There once was a feller named Gein who lived on a Wisconsin farm
he kept his records clean
he could do nobody harm
though he was a bit strange
no one thought deranged
he kept to himself
never asking for help
cept fer his mother
his only women
there weren’t no other

In the year '47
Eddie was all by himself
his mother went to heaven
then he lost his mental health
somethin' wrong in his head
hearin voices from the dead
calling to dig up their bodies
saying, "take us home, we’ll have a party"
so he had found a new hobby
by the name of grave robbery

He was a good 'ole boy
you saw around town
he was a good 'ole boy
Don't be messin' around now
He was a good 'ole boy
He never harmed another
He was a good 'ole boy
that changed when he lost his mother!

In a small Wisconsin town
the dead found a new place to rest
Eddie snatched them from the ground
decorated his lampshades, bed, and chest
he made bowls
from skulls
a throne
from bones
a niffty nipple belt
and a nice vest
from human flesh.....
I said a nice vest from human flesh...

He was a good 'ole boy
You saw around town
he was a good 'ole boy
Don't be messin' around now
He was a good 'ole boy
He never harmed another
He was a good 'ole boy
that changed when he lost his mother!

There once was a gal
who thought
him a swell guy
he didn't want no pals
so he shot her t'ween the eyes
drug her off in a sled
hung her in his shed
cut off her head
dressed her like venison

deer huntin season
was the only reason
I guess...
and what ya kill ya must eat
so he gave his neighbors the venison
meat

He was a good 'ole boy
you saw around town
he was a good 'ole boy
Don't be messin' around now
He was a good 'ole boy
He never harmed another
He was a good 'ole boy
that changed when he lost his mother!

There once was a feller named Gein
who lived on a Wisconsin farm.
Although he kept his records clean,
he did some people harm...
yes he did some people harm,
oh, he did some folks haaarrrrmmmm
